Discussion Area Welcome

Welcome to the Forming Fennimore’s Future discussion area. In the days ahead, you will find commentary by members of your community about forming Fennimore’s Future. We encourage you to share your thoughts about what makes Fennimore special, and how we can improve what is not so special. We truly want to know what is important to you, your family, and the other people you care about.

This is an all-inclusive (Please read Pete Adam’s Open Invitation.) effort including kids, families, singles, seniors. We live together. We need to work together to make Fennimore the best it can be for all of us who choose to live here.

Please feel free to participate by commenting on this and the other commentary that will be posted in this discussion area.

Thanks for joining us here and at the community meetings.

I will not be able to attend the meeting on April 1st but had some thoughts that I wanted to share
regarding things that I think would benefit people living in Fennimore.

I think that the community should take a more active role in the funding of Marsden park because it is not city funded and works on a very limited budget. The park is a great resource to share and it is up to us to help make it better. Many communities pay for their parks thru tax dollars and this is not the case with Marsden park but they have many costs associated in the upkeep of the park nonetheless

Besides the funding of the day to day operations some park improvements might be the basketball court and a skateboard park and recycling bins

I think the community should pursue the extension of the bike path from Dodgeville to Fennimore and or from Fennimore to Werley and or Woodman following the old “dinky” route. This would be in keeping with Fennimores current “Get fit” program and give people young and old alike a safe place to bike and exercise and also promote tourism.

I think Fennimore should provide a dog park facility which could be done by making Oak Wood Park officially pet friendly

Just read Mike Mudlers comments from March. Sound like great ideas. Why not the bike trail extention…the RR right of way is there. A little state representative backing could make it happen. And the Dinky extention would be even better. Good thinking Mike. Tom
